Hello my fellow Nail Crazies!
One more day and this super long week will be over! Anyone else counting the days? haha
Anyways, today I have a flashback themed collection for you. Anyone remember the movie The Pagemaster from the 90's with Macaulay Culkin? Long story short its about a young boy who goes into a library to escape a storm only to be transformed into an animated illustration by the Pagemaster and he has to work through obstacles from classic books to return to real life. Even as a kid I was book geek so of course I got sucked right into this movie and when I found out the ladies from Nvr Enuff Polish were sending me The Pagemaster collection to review I was extremely excited!
So come down memory lane with me and check out these fun polishes!
First up is Horror. Horror is a foggy blue jelly filled with matte gray hex, bright blue hex and baby blue circles. I used 3 thin coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with a glossy top coat. This polish is based off the book character named Horror from the movie. Formula was good and it applied well. No fishing was needed what so ever for any glitters. This was my favorite book from the movie, as I was that kid that loved horror movies and scaring the crap out of myself! haha
Next is Fantasy. Fantasy is a lavender cream polish with golden/pink shimmer flake. I used 2 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with a glossy top coat. This polish is based off the book character named Fantasy from the movie. Formula was great and it applied very smoothly. This is such a pretty cream and I absolutely loved the little flecks of gold in it.
Third is Adventure. Adventure is a bright red polish is packed full of tiny gold flakes and pink/red shimmer. I used 2 thin coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with a glossy top coat. This polish is based off the book character named Adventure from the movie. Formula was great and it applied very well. This is my favorite from the collection. This actually reminded me of flames, the way the gold shimmer reflects off the red polish is perfect. Love this polish so much!
Next up is Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde is a multichrome polish with real silver coated flakes. I used 3 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with a glossy top coat. Formula was good and applied evenly. Now I could explain this polish myself but the way the ladies at Nvr Enuff described it on their site was perfect! "Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde is based off of the gentleman the characters meet after encountering Horror from the movie "The Pagemaster" Starting out just sweet as Mr Jekyll with the linear holo, then ending just as chaotic as Mr Hyde with the massive amount of real Silver Coated flakes. This multichrome shifts from blue to green to purple perfectly representing that which is Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde" Now after reading that description check out my swatches! Look at the multichrome goodness and the way the light makes my nails almost look like 2 different polishes are on each nail. Fits with the name of this polish perfectly!
Last up is The Pagemaster. The Pagemaster is a blue, purple, orange to red multichrome with some added real silver coated flakes. I used 3 thin coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with a glossy top coat. The formula was great and applied like butter. This like the one above had a beautiful color changing effect. Super pretty!
Overall, this entire collection is great! All formulas were good and applied well and no fishing was needed for the glitters. They also captured each character perfectly with the polishes! I hope you enjoyed this walk down memory lane with me!
