Happy Saturday my fellow nail crazies!
I hope everyone is having a great 4th of July weekend! Sadly my 4th of July was rained out but the weekend weather looks much better! My husband started vacation yesterday so I'm looking forward to spending some time with him all week, maybe get some beach days and pool days in! Anyways, Today I have a few polishes that were sent to me by Polished Colors. I received 2 Jellys and 1 glitter topper. Let's get right into it!
First up is Holo Baby. Holo baby is a medium pink jelly with loads of scattered holo glitters. I used 2 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with Glossy Glam top coat. The formula on this polish was a little on the thick side so I had to use a light hand to apply it. The color was really pretty and the holo glitters sparkled nicely, even when I wasn't in direct sunlight.
Next is Holo B-Day To Me. Holo B-Day To Me is a neon yellow jelly with lots of scattered holo glitters. I used 3 thin coats to achieve about 95% opacity then sealed it with Glossy Glam top coat. I prefer a jelly that isn't completely opaque because that means it's perfect for jelly sandwiches. I don't own many jellys to do that type of mani so I was really excited about this one, not to mention, it's neon!!! Everyone knows I love me some neons! haha The formula was good and applied easily and evenly.
Last is Indie-Pendence Day. Indie-Pendence Day is a clear glitter topper with red, white and blue glitters of all sizes including stars! I applied this topper using the Sponge method as well as the 1 regular coat then sealed it with Glossy Glam top coat. The Sponge method is a way to apply lots of glitters from a topper without having to do the dabbing method and making the layers of polish to thick. I will be doing a tutorial on it soon! I don't remember where I read how to do this but it's a brilliant idea! Formula was good and very little fishing was needed for the stars. My favorite patriotic polish I have swatched so far!
Here is a couple fun manis I did using these polishes.
Overall I give the collection a 4 out of 5 stars. I loved the looks of all polishes and the formulas and applications of both Holo Bday To Me and Indie-Pendence Day were great, But I do wish Holo Baby wasn't so thick, making it harder to apply. You can get each of these polishes for $8.50 each and they come in an 12ml teardrop shape bottle. Also, all Polished Colors polishes are 5 free which is a huge plus in my book!
