Hello my fellow Nail Crazies!
Can't believe its only Thursday! Is it just me or is this week seem super long?! It's almost 90 degrees here, humid as hell and supposed to get some thunder and lightning storms, boo! I love summer but hate humidity! But the polishes Ill be showing you today will be perfect to put me in a more summer time mood! We got bright fun polishes! woo hoo! My favorite! haha Plus 2 pretty duochromes! I have 7 polishes for you in total from Daily Hues Lacquer so be prepared for a lot of pictures! All the names in this fun summer collection have a sun / summer / sunshine type meaning. So let's get right to it!
First up is Cira. Cira is a bright, lemony yellow crème. I used 3 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlows top coat. Cira means sun in Italian. Formula and application was good. This reminded me of a yellow highlighter! Perfect bright yellow for summer. One of those polishes that make you look like you have a nice summer tan even when your Casper white like myself! haha
Second is Paiva. Paiva is an orange crème. I used 3 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlows top coat. Paiva means god of sun in Scandinavian. This wasn't really neon , don't get me wrong, it's still a fun orange and pretty for summer but neon to me is a polish that is so vivid that it looks like it could glow in the dark. I actually thought this looked like a creamsicle type orange! mmm! My favorite summertime treat! Formula and application was good.
Next up is Dawn. Dawn is a pale, yet bright blue crème with slight shimmer. I used 3 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlows top coat. Dawn means sunrise in Greek. Again, just like Paiva, not neon but still super pretty! This made me think of the sky while laying out in the sun. Unlike the other crèmes, this one has a nice shimmer effect to it. Formula and application was good.
Fourth is Juliana. Juliana is a neon green crème I used 3 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlows top coat. Juliana means July in Greek. BAM! Now this is neon! Im pretty sure if I put a black light up to this it would glow haha! I love the idea of this polish and it is my second favorite colorwise from the collection but sadly my mini contained some pigment pieces that showed up on the mani a bit. EDIT: I have discussed the pigment issue with Jenn and I was assured that the new batch no longer has the pigments pieces in it and has been reformulated! Yay! Now this polish is perfect!
Fifth is Soliel. Soliel is a bright coral, almost red crème. I used 3 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlows top coat. Soleil means sun in French. Another bright beauty! This is my favorite from the collection. I love a color thats not quite sure what it is! haha! A pink? a coral? a shade of red? I dont know haha, All I do know is it's bright, fun and perfect for summer! Formula and application was good.
Next is Zora. Zora is a green, purple and blue duochrome. I used 3 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlows top coat. Zora means light of dawn in Serbian. Formula and application was good. My only issue was I didn't feel like it was a green/purple/blue duochrome. It looked like a shade of brown with a pinkish highlight. Still really pretty and I have yet to see a duochrome that looks like this. I'd wear this on a summer evening out.
Last is Roxie. Roxie is a red and purple duochrome. I used 3 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlows top coat. Roxie means dawn in French. Formula and application were good. This was my third favorite in the collection. It reminded me of make up! does that sound weird? lol What I mean is it reminds me of a lip stick or an eye shadow, like it has the shimmer effect like a lip stick or eye shadow would. I very pretty polish.
Overall I give the collection a 5 out of 5 stars. Only problem I had was the pigment pieces in a couple of the polishes but I have discussed this with Jenn and polishes have been reformulated so the new batches no longer have pigment pieces! The colors were fun and bright for summer! Go grab yours now, you don't want to miss out on these beauties!!
