Happy Tuesday my Fellow Nail Crazies!
Hope that everyone's beginning of the week has been good! It's been rainy here the past couple days! Ugh I need summer, it's so freakin close! Haha So what better way to make this sad weather day brighter then with some gorgeous summer shade polishes! Today's post I will be showing you the JulieG Cruise Collection, which consist of 6 very pretty creme polishes. These are my very first JulieG polishes and when I got the groupon email for this collection for almost half off I jumped at the chance to grab them! I payed around $15 with shipping which would normally have been around $25 with shipping. You can also buy these separately for $3.99 each(not including shipping). So let's begin!
First up is Canary Islands. Canary Islands is a bright and creamy yellow polish. I used 3 thin coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlow top coat. This is the perfect yellow polish for summer. It's bright and shiny just like summer sun! The formula was good although there was some streaking which wasn't as noticeable after I put the top coat on. This is now on my list of top favorite yellow creme polishes!
Second is Old San Juan. Old San Juan is a pumpkin orange and creamy polish. I used 3 thin coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlow top coat. I'm usually not a fan of orange polishes at all, if I wear one it has to be a neon bright orange which this polish isn't, But surprisingly I really like the look of this polish! In certain lighting it almost looks like an orange coral. The formula was great and unlike the "Canary Islands" there was no streaking at all. This is probably the only orange polish in my collection of polishes that I will ever wear again(excluding my neon's of course!)
Next is Rio De Janiero. A creamy fuchsia pink polish. I used 3 thin coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlows top coat. I actually think I could have gotten away with only applying 2 coats because that's how opaque this polish was. I'm not a huge fan of pink polishes and the picture on the website of this looked more purple(which is my favorite polish color to use) so I was actually a little disappointed when I received this. Don't misunderstand though, for you ladies who like pink polishes then this is the polish for you! Its a great formula and goes on well.
Fourth is Miami Beach. A bright Coral pink polish. I used 2 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlows Top coat. Now this is the type of pink I like! Very bright and fun! The formula was the best in the collection! I only needed the 2 coats and there was no streaking. When I think of the city Miami Beach I think of fun, party life and the Beach. This polish, in my opinion, is the perfect summer polish color and the name fits it very well. Miami Beach is my favorite in this collection.
Next is Tahiti. A sparkly pastel green polish. I used 3 thin coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlows Top coat. This is the only one in the collection with a bit of a fun sparkle. I liked the color but the formula was watery. It was also streaky but once I put the top coat on the streaking wasn't as noticeable. Tahiti wasn't as bright as the rest of the colors in the collection but it was still pretty.
Last from the Cruise Collection is Santorini. A creamy pastel blue with a bit of shimmer. I used 2 coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with GlistenandGlows Top coat. The formula was good and there was no streaking. Santorini reminded me of the fresh cool air on a summer morning and the blue summer sky. It was very pretty and when looking at this mani I pictured sitting on a beach and looking up at the sky! Aww, now I want to go to the beach!! haha C'mon summer!!
Overall I think the collection of polishes had a pretty good formula, although some polishes did streak, the top coat seemed to mask that. The price of these polishes are also great! $3.99 for a 10ml polish is awesome in my book! I'm glad I decided to finally order my first JulieG polishes and I'm looking forward to ordering some more in the future!
Ill end this post with a couple manis I did using these polishes :)
Well I hope everyone has a good week!
